How long does it take between the intake process and services starting?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

• A typical timeline between intake and your initial assessment is around 2 -3 weeks. This can fluctuate depending on the BCBA\u2019s availability and your family schedule.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  How often can I expect an RBT or a BCBA to be at my home?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

  • Our sessions are a minimum of 3 hours long. The frequency of sessions depends on many things: BCBA recommendations, your family schedule and how your child is progressing through their plan. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    What if I don\u2019t like the goals the BCBA has included in the behavior plan, can we make suggestions or changes?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

    • Absolutely! At NoCal Behavioral Services we work hard to ensure that you have an integral part in creating the plan for your child. The BCBA will consider your family goals and the problem areas you\u2019d like to work on before writing the plan. You can always ask the BCBA for additional help in certain areas throughout treatment. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      How do I help my child when the RBT or BCBA isn\u2019t in the home?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

      • The BCBA and RBT will help you learn techniques that they use during sessions to help during meltdowns. Our BCBAs also hold monthly family meetings where they meet with you with your child, and once a month without your child, to answer any questions you might have in a more personalized manner. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Can someone attend an IEP meeting with me at the school?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

        • Unfortunately, due to TriCare regulations we cannot attend IEP Meeting with you. Our BCBAs are happy to give you suggestions on how to navigate the meeting. We also request a copy of the IEP to keep on file (TriCare also requests a copy).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          My child struggles mostly at school, can an RBT or a BCBA provide services there?<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

          • Yes! We do in home, in community and in school services. Our goal is to help with the behavior in the environment the behavior takes place. We cannot work on educational goals (i.e. anything outlined in the IEP or tutoring) but we can help with appropriate behaviors while in class, in the lunchroom, during recess, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
